Discovering New Talents

For more than two decades, Daekyo has been discovering new breeds of writers and literary talents through the annual Eye Level Literary Award. In recent years, the contest’s focus has shifted to uncovering and recognizing talented children from around the world in writing and illustrated writing categories.

Eye Level members and non-members are all invited to showcase their writing skills and take a step closer to their dreams.

Win a Trip to Korea!

The contest is held every summer, and the global winners are invited to Korea to attend the Awards Ceremony and travel around Seoul.

Online Registration

Registration for the Literary Award is online only from May 11 to June 24. Late registrations will not be accepted.

Writing Practice

Participating Eye Level Learning Centers will be holding a practice event where students can draw and write about a given topic in preparation for the global event.

Illustrated Writing

All children 4 to 9 years of age are invited to participate in the Illustrated Writing category. Participants will draw a picture and describe it in 50 words or less. Theme announced at event.
Illustrated Writing Contest Information

Writing

All children 10 to 15 years of age are invited to participate in the Writing category. Participants will write 200 to 500 words of prose or poetry (fact or fiction) on a provided topic. Theme announced at event.
